Woke up at 5:20 this morning. I went to bed pretty early last night which was great.
During the night I woke and was like. I can still go back to sleep and got more sleep out of it. Nearly 8 hours I think considering it took next to no time to fall asleep.
A little concern about my shin splints. Warmed them up but didn’t roll them out which likely I should do instead of just blowing warm air. So make that adjustment tomorrow onwards.
Got out for my run not till 6:34. Delay and procrastination. I figured my warmup not super effective. Alas.
I get out for the run. Feels fine. But at some point I notice a touch in the left knee there.
Actually. It was first my left shoe was too tight I guess. So I had to loosen and then get on my back. I was cruising pretty good up till there 5:20 splits in my 2 and 3 km.
I want to get out there again!
After fixing that it improved to the point I didn’t notice the foot anymore.
After that first loop. I noticed my left knee. I head back reverse direction. At the bridge I saw a group go off course. But then realized. The trail continues. Let’s pop over there. Screw it, let’s try and get around the entire thing today. I’m going and I see the vastness to get around it. And I’m like. This is plenty of km. That’s fine. But my knee is really getting jarred. And the at a certain point I say. Not worth it to push around the lake today. I have a longer term objective. And if I were to do that today I’d need that much more time to recover and then I open the door to a more serious actual injury.
I think what it is right now is pretty manageable. Do my rehab. Follow proper stretches, some research for it. Would indeed like to get myself a red light. I’ve been able to use my mother in law’s and it’s actually legit. Got me back running from the calf and Achilles. And those are now pretty solid. I’m getting the next stage of stuff. Which is expected. Need to learn how to stretch but also strengthen.
I got some solid weights done on Friday. Which I’m still kind of recovering from. But overall pretty solid. Really worked on my right hip. So much crunching. Crunching it out.
Did a run and stretch yesterday. Incorporating sprints into the runs, helps get the full body shaked out.
Thinking back on the run this morning I really picked up the pace for a stretch there weaving around and it was actually quite fun to be going pretty fast through that section.
Also, the stride there is less jarring than my long distance stride. Which kind of makes me think I should be just doing the longer stride. I’m just unsure how long I can maintain. The shorter stride takes less effort. Feels like I can just keep going and going until of course. I consider the knee, arg. It was gorgeous this morning. Would have been quite satisfying to have gone all the way. We’ll have to try again, maybe tomorrow.
I think I could still get another run in today. Maybe could give it a try today. If I’m feeling good but likely I’m not supposed to run
11:54. I’ve done some Theragun, I’ve done tens. I do definitely wish I had a red light. Super tempted to buy one, maybe I go halfsie with her parents.
I had some thoughts on the run. How will I do my announcement video.

It’s the work you do when nobody is watching.
That’s been a lot of everything I do. Haven’t shared like 99% of it.
Slowly building my skill. My mastery. Laying bricks.
I started from a zero runner.
I’m now a daily km runner.
It’s the one piece from tiger’s routine that I just didn’t do. Was not part of my life at all. Going for a run.
A big objective was to build new routines. Carve new time in my day to become a runner. The only way to inspire action. From me and apparently it struck equally as hard from those closest to me. Forcing me to properly change and integrate add. Elevate. Build a new identity in the process. Can be messy at times. Take people off guard. It’s natural to sort of expect someone to stay the way they’ve always been.
This is deep to who I am. Without a full time entrepreneur gig I had a bit of a challenge gap, I needed something under my control. Accessible. The run idea became obvious. With two small kids. Golf mastery just not currently in the cards. Need to get game reps. I’m building that in the shadows still. Just laying bricks waiting for that opportunity to play more golf opens up and I’ll have so much skill at my disposal. Will make it a lotttt of fun. Life long sport.
For running tho. Can enter a race without needing to prove my handicap. I’ve now entered two solo races. Which is actually pretty awesome. Just zero gatekeepers. For me to try a half marathon as well as this wild 50k. FIRST TIMER over here. No problem. It’s on me.
And the daily process. Building this ultra runner. It’s such a great keystone habit. Eating elite, no drinking, good sleep, lots of movement thanks to the runs and sprints and hills. Incredible to have almost entirely fixed my neck simply by all this added movement. But then the keystone holds more value. To recover I’m doing that stuff, stretching and whatnot but then the preventative performance. Doing weights full body exercises. All around strength. And then running specific. Plus benefits golf fitness. All of it great cross training.
I’m just slowly getting into the best shape of my life. Which makes me feel good too. To sort of see another reflection of the work I’m doing.
It’s fun to have this objective to work towards. Be inspired to get work in every day. The kids are now expecting I’ve done a run every day. Love this new routine.

Gratitude. Because life could be so much harder.
So you should work hard. Do your best. Don’t complain.
What would you do with 65 million dollars. In this day and age.
I would likely quit my day job.
I would invest in a small warehouse somewhere. Thinking maybe at the farm would be legit. Lots of space. Drop a new Quonset. Built out underground as well.
One objective, main floor. Would be to have robots building phone cases.
If we can get robots building custom phone cases end to end. Wood prep and everything. You just feed the raw materials. And as orders are placed it pops out packaged cases ready to get taken to the post office. Could have them dropped off at the post office daily.
If we can get them to cover that. First.
Then we would add laser etched art. Pretty much the same process but likely longer laser etch time.
Could maybe have them print high res 3d textured artwork. Made via digital ai. And sure you can make a nice background for your computer or your virtual environment. Or also, whatever is generated have it printed fabricated high res etc. but for that. I mean. The frame TV kind of functions no problem to make the texture almost look textured. Pretty legit.
So you stick with wood art etc. for the phone cases.
But if we can get that then do the wood wallets fabricated. Orrrr I use the push-up a. Roller box. Could manufacture that.
Or cutting boards. Orr skateboards. Maybe skateboard longboard snowboards and skis.
Get the robots to build those.
Uncertain if that’s necessary. Thinking again just kept it at phone cases.
But for sure to have an Ironman studio. With all the tools. All the tech to custom manufacture anything. Like Bruce Wayne I guess in that regard.
Big time tho, would be a workout studio.
And big time would be a golf studio. Golf training facility.
Which I could fly people in for a session. Would be awesome. Maybe a different farm nearby. That the people flown in would have their own space in the evenings.
Full immersion tho. Learn the fundamentals of golf in a week, we’ll cover each area of the game of golf. Learn the fundamentals of practice daily.
Plus cross training.
But yeah to have groups of people be able to branch off and work exclusively on their putting. Get the insane feedback experience they’ve never had.
Then I could design their home practice setup.
