Last night I was sick. With something. Just sweating. Head hurt. Then my legs super sore. Put some voltarin on them. Kids also up several times for various reasons.
Slept in till 10:45am. Legs felt pretty good actually. Did some ankle circles. Etc. but then stepping out of bed felt a tightness on the left leg. Actually maybe felt that in bed when doing those exercises. Was slow to get moving. Let it stretch. Relax. Not an issue. Can still few some tightness
Took a hot bath to try and help my legs loosen up before I walk around too much.
I made it downstairs! Walked around a bit. Had a banana and a bowl of cereal. Filled up my water bottle. Lay down on the couch. Feeling very low energy. Walked back upstairs.
Wayyy less concern about muscles cramping. Legs are now just sore. I have not tested them out tooo much. I’m still a little hesitant. Also, like. Do I need to be concerned that I’ll cramp like this again?
I think high level, they’re stronger. I’m not going to tax my legs that much in a single run. Maybe the grizzly. Doing 50k might do it.
Let’s try a few squats.
1:58 — some squats. No problem. Legs are sore. And feel tired tho. Walk downstairs no problem. Walk around a bit. Help the kids eat lunch get dressed popsicles. Get bikes out the garage. The most I’ve moved without pain. Then I feel a little grab in the right leg behind my knee. Ugh. Stop and stretch it out.
Ultimately. Able to get through that tightness. To the point where walking inside. I think. Maybe I should toss on my runners. Likely know were not running. But maybe try a walk around the block. And then I think to myself. Let’s not push our luck. I can see myself getting stuck out there still having to drag myself back to the house.
We’ll continue to work out way back. Different parts are now prone to tightness. So it feels like the full back of my legs. Healing in layers. We’re almost broke free. Once we feel no pulls. I mean. It’ll be quick that I can go out again.
Legs should be much more robust now after all that strain and now this time to recover. Build back in response to the strain.
So that’s exciting. Once no more pulls, then we’ll start with the walk around the block do some backwards walking. Do some walking up the hill. Some backwards walking up the hill.
Stuff like that to fire up the legs without much impact on the joints. And I think in theory not much impact on the calves aside from getting them pumped. We’ll have to work our way back to the jog around the lake. We’ll have to prove it to ourselves.
Tonight I’m going to the movie. Maybe. If I do then we’ll have some walking associated with that.
Feels like I can do the walk around the block tomorrow.
Feels like I might be able to do another something in the evening. Do a little jog. Many do the toboggan hill. Then come back and do a workout.
4:25 — low energy. Took another couple hour nap. Right back of my leg is sore from before. Put some voltarin on it.
5:00 — I bounded down the stairs like a normal me again. Jude needed something in the basement and I was worried for a second he was going to break something in his effort to get it. So I got up. And moved to the stairs, normal no thought of issues. Then the bottom set of stairs I bounced down boom boom boom! Woohooo
5:47 — upstairs then downstairs. Not too concerned. All the way downstairs grab in my left calf.
10:56 — not to mention tho. The sickness last night. Sweating. Headache. Sweating. Sore legs.
