7:38am — woke up at 7. Had my alarm for 5 but I’m currently needing to use sleep to repair my cooked legs. So I silenced it and got another couple hours.
My legs so far in the few steps I’ve taken. No issues. Getting out of bed I was pretty rickety.
Last night I was sore and tight. Slow moving. But no nips. I was more just seized up.
9:32 am — we made it downstairs, I did an actual stretch beforehand. I never stretch before going downstairs. lol. But this is a nice routine to stretch it out before my runs or workouts. Forced to focus on the feet legs and hips. Stuff I might sort of skip. Would be calves. I’ve ignored my calves for years and years. I do recall a time when i would do calf raises and do some calf exercises. Alas. That was like 15 years ago. 20 years ago.
Over the course of a year it doesn’t feel that dramatic. But then how much has significantly changed in 10 15 20 years. Still back to when I was a kid. 15 years old. I was an old 15 years old.
I digress, made up some coffee and toast and ate a banana. Went to the garage to hit a few chips. And toss the compost.
Made it almost all the way. But then a little grab in the left upper calf. Quick stretch it so it doesn’t grab. ok, not too bad.
Then some chips.
This setup is so good.
When I get the feedback painted better for the whiteboard. Will be even better. Likely want a little wider but it’s joy too bad.
Going from that. Few shots. Magnetic balls. Such epic feedback but tricky to see it right away each time. But sometimes you see that mark on the ground and it’s like boom. So. Try a few paint job and see how that goes. Or need some little spec to put on the club. Toe heel Center.
I digress. Moving from that board hard surface just trying to pick the ball clean and catch a mark on the board in the desired spot. You imagined.
Then to the next off turf. And this time just hit a few normal shots. Two handed right away.
And wow. It’s just so good. The ball is teed up. Even tho it’s super tight grain turf. On cement. It’s actually kind of tough to clip a clean 60 off of it.
For a while back in the winter. I was constantly hitting behind the ball it was ridiculous. The bottom out being so bad.
But now. Especially seeing the bottom out and being held super accountable. Actionable. On the whiteboard.
I like to think of these sessions like I’m trying to solve a puzzle.
Each time the puzzle Is kind of new. But can be the same. Same target same everything. It’s fairly controlled. When you set up the boxes. And keep them that way for however many days weeks or months. The puzzle kind of can stay the same. But. The way you solve it. That’s the fun part. Is solving this puzzle faster and in more new different ways.

And now I hustled back inside to get back to work.
And was able to grab my stuff and get upstairs. Fairly fast. No grabs. No pain.
But still plenty of like. Ok just don’t fatigue the muscle. Because it’ll probably grab. So now we eat and rest while we work. Then do more stretching.
11:32am — solid work work. Pit stop. Need to do some more stretching next before I take a lunch break.
Calves are still quite tight. But I think what we’re doing. Able to do today. Stretch them out every 30 minutes. Should set a timer. It’s like strrrreeetch.
Try and avoid exhausting them and relapse on a grab cramp.
11:59 — some stretching. And some burbs. You know you’re getting some excellent release when you’re getting the cracks and release feels and noises. Plus the pent up burbs. Was stretching out the rip hip in particular hand on wall, just a really nice stretch. Feels like we’re further than ever before. I’ve been chipping away at these barnacles for years and years. Wow. Because for years and years i let them build up. Via the food. And the lack of proper movement. I seized up. Became like a rock.
4:16 — kids were at the farm today. I had an entire day in flow. No interruptions. It was glorious.
I was able to do some deep work. Deep thinking. Deep analysis.
Identified some gaps in my logic. was able to work through scenarios more thoroughly. And ultimately crafted a simple plan a, b, c to get things going.
Also importantly. Just went downstairs. Heated up some late lunch early dinner. Thought we were gonna hit the road but then Lauren was still working away. So then oh ok we’re spending another night, groovy. Can continue to flow.
Importantly, as I was going to mention. Able to walk around and only needed a little extra stretch on the left leg.
I used the theragun to pummel my legs a bit plus some stretching before I went downstairs. My goal is to have as few grabs as possible. The ability to just do my thing at home. I’ll try and go for a walk. And then get to bed fairly early I think. Means tomorrow should be pretty legit. I believe I’m that much closer to walking. To jogging. To running again.
But we’ve got to take it slow!
6:52 — we got our for a walk, took the dog. Feeling decent. Dog is adding some resistance in various directions. So maybe not even ready for dog walking yet. lol. Made the turn. And then the right groin gets strained. Okkkkk
We hobble back.
We rest a bit. But some voltarin on it. Pummel a bit. We head to the garage to practice golf.
Moving slow but not terrible. Got the garage tidied up. Sorta. At least the one side I cleared out, pulled the orange tarp.
And then I really slow down. My right calf is throbbing. Not cramping. But like. Oh. You’re quite sore are you?! I see I see. So now I’m just sitting. The idea was to get the strobe lights on and then do a performance test. And maybe a few loops off and on now that I’ve got it all set up. Alas, I think instead I’m going to hobble back to the house and take a hot bath. lol.
