Slept in till 8:15. Which will do wonders for me

I did a little stretch of my toes in bed. Then cautiously optimistic start doing a little pack up. We’re heading to the lake. I then do a little more stretching on my mat before I dare head downstairs.

I get downstairs. We’re good. I go back and forth up and down. Ok. Not bad not bad.

I do get the odd little something. I stop and stretch. We can return as normal. Gooood goooood.

Could it be? I am able to walk again?

10:54 — Walked around some more

2:15 — made the drive out to the lake. Unloaded the car up and down the stairs as well inside a few times. Then dishing up soup on the stove I feel a little grab in the right upper side of calf.

I’m looking forward to using the red light. I feel like my recovery could’ve been cut in half had I had one. So hopefully where I’m at now in my recovery it’ll get me back to new in no time.

2:19 — lots of thoughts from the drive. During the drive. Listened to unreasonable something or other. The restaurant business some stories of what became the number one restaurant in the world. Lessons learned and then I had some time to think on my own. About what alto collective is up to. And how to pitch the next level.

5:56 — red light. And then a bit of theragun. And some stretching. Walking around quite a bit. Doing the stairs a little bit. Testing it out. Normally this would be of zero interest. zero impact. I’d likely have had a few beers. I’ve reduced my beers anyways. But now even more so. Basically zero alcohol.

Feeeels. Like if I can do another stint with the red light. And another good sleep. We’ll do another slightly longer walk tomorrow. Some exercise. Some water running I think would be legit. There’s beach as well.

Just gotta make it through today without injuring myself too bad.

8:01 — the right calf started seizing up. I think due to the red wine. My guess. Arrrg. Able to get upstairs and downstairs and get kids ready for bed. So not terrible. But still. I’m laying down with my feet up upstairs, doing some loops with my foot. Feels like it’s loosening up.

This is just so wild. This injury I’ve got. And how slow its recovering. I’m chomping at the bit to do more.

Also the progression of the recovery is fascinating.

I just gotta get myself ready to run. And strong enough to run a decently long stint without re-injury. It might be kinda close. To ramping back up to 22km. Arg. I guess realistically for that one. Could be something I start and at first sign of anything. Well frig. I just need to avoid that altogether. Really. It’s gonna be tricky managing this. Super dependent on how tomorrow goes. Next week goes. Because this week. Then next week.

Then I’m doing that long run.

The fact I’m still on my ass right now. It’s not a great sign.

I did a decent amount of movement today tho, more than any other day I think. We’ll need to get more red light tonight.

Wild that I had such a strain yesterday. All these strains. But I wake up super fresh. Until I get a tug. I made it nicely until I was hobbled. So maybe that’s my indicator. Several things are showing that I’m improving.
