7:26 — awake at 5:30. Took a bath then shower. Warm up my legs. I was indeed tired waking up. Could’ve slept like 10 or 12 hours. Alas. Left the house at 6:30. I did round up the rest of the odds and sods I had forgot. Electing to grab the two weights. I’m excited about that. If I’m going to do any meaningful warmup practice routines. Videos. My thought was to make a video. Using the cube I guess. “How to practice.”

?? There’s so many things. So many ways to think about what to do. Ultimately. I did step one writing it down. I’m unsure when I can. I mean. Technically I’ll stay out all day Wednesday. Can get there early too.

8:59am — we accomplished phase 1. Run a half marathon. The calves survived. The knees are still sore. Quads are fine now. If I grab them I can tell I used them. Knees are the most sore part of the body tho. On the sides. I wasn’t pounding into the pavement. I was definitely run in on pavement tho. But the soft part below knee cap. That feels good. So that’s a good sign. This should heal up. Then we focus on building strength in the quads again. Squats and lunges. All that work to reinforce that muscle. We’ve got our work cut out for us. To get ready for an even more intense arduous endurance experience. It was a lot of pavement. That was the challenge. But really. So long as we didn’t injure. Let that heal up, it’ll help strengthen. So that’s fine. This week we’ll do plenty of walking to keep it all moving. Not sure what running looks like. Maybe I can get out on Wednesday.

I’ve got a month. Including this week. And then a week of recovery taper to make sure my body feels good for the race.

If I treat this week as sort of active recovery. See how we’re doing each day. Clearly I’m not running if my knees are feeling rickety. Golf should be ideal tho.

Then I’ve got two weeks in September and then one week end of September beginning October. And the week after is the recovery taper race prep week.

So yeah. Make sure I recover from yesterday. But also we need to challenge and build muscle. Without over doing. I wonder what the schedule looks like.

4:16pm —- we landed. Got to hotel, got to lunch. Signed up one of the guys for our fourth for golf on Wednesday. Lunch done and I was basically free to go till 5. So I hit the glencoe. Booked massage for Wednesday. Then checked out the locker to see what was there. Barely fit my dad’s shoes. But they fit enough to walk around. So that was dope. He had whites. So I went to squash courts and actually. Able to lunge around not bad at all. Got a bit of a sweat going too. Some skill stuff. Was fun to whack the ball. It’s been years. Then checked out just for giggles the golf. And Lo and behold there was a right and left hand club and some balls. And turf looked tidy. So that was also dope. A little golf practice. Then about an hour I was able to walk around the fitness and move my body. Stretch my body. Lower right hip area wasn’t unlocking. Alas. Not bad. Now feeling it in my quads. Versus the knees. Which is excellent. The knees if they lose their hurt quickly then we’re laughing. That’s wonderful.

Now going to head to dinner a little early and get some work done if I’ve got time.
