9:46am — I’m feeling strong. I went for my last long run last Tuesday. It’s Monday today.
I then basically did nothing Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday. Leg workout on Sunday.
I probably did some stretching and whatnot on those days. But really hit the off switch. Looking after kids and knowing I’m into the taper.
Some knee soreness. And then did indeed get plenty of rest. I think it was Sunday morning that my right knee was like ooo. Interesting. Must’ve been healing. Doing something at night. Saturday I was standing at computer editing video. With my running belt plus extra weight. I had that on Friday probably? But then at some point I added extra weight was legit.
This morning. I was thinking maybe I would go for a run. But the ball in my hip. Took priority. It was much needed to make sure we keep that loose. Do not want that getting all tight. And strained. I’ll want to get out for some running movement. Either tomorrow or Wednesday.
I need to pick up more gels and bar things. A few caffeine ones.
And then need to get my nutrition dialled in meals day prior and then morning of.
I’ve got the knee braces. Curious if I’ll use them for the race or not. There would be a question mark if they’ll stay up or not. And question mark if they’ll be good for going up hills or just annoying.
I am thinking potentially. I might just use them for recovery. I can for sure see that. I’m uncertain if they’ll be good for the run tho.
I’m concerned about the jiggle for 50k. It’s possible it won’t be as pronounced if my legs are starting fresh. Versus what I had going was blitzing my legs. So they were weak. Intentionally.
I should give them a test run at least and see.
