2:56pm — lazzyyy after the weekend. inspired, but also so uninspired.
3:27 — out to the garage for just a few minutes. decided to hit a few balls into the box. and then decided to try and hit into the pipe
i really only took a few shots. before…. i got another one in. now my total is 2 lifetime.
it was just like. too strong, then too short… can’t quite remember. but either second or third going at it… it went in. perfectly in. requires it to come in at a high enough angle, also requires effectively perfect distance and perfect aim almost no margin for error left or right too far or too short… such a tough shot.
for me at least. which is ideal. i’ve proven its possible to get it in. i’ve had a lot of misses… questioning if its too hard of a challenge… but then getting two in, one on camera and one just now off camera… hence why i have turned it on for a lot of sessions…. alas. the goal here. i know its super tough, but i have shown its doable. and now the days on days that i try and hit it into this tiny target. i think i’m seeing already that my skill is growing. all i needed to think about what club going through with this face, sense distance of the target. and everything else was fairly automatic…
how do i get at this challenge title. right now. it’s in the open side. i need to change tires. thinking tomorrow my day off i can/should do that.
my body was sooorreeee end of last week. not stretching enough for one. and two i was putting on a lot of strain, more than i realized.
so fun to run Andrew through the setup. passion for golf. curious by nature. open minded. a quick tutorial with the stobe, do a few of those and you’ll be levelling up quick..
the effect is immediate tho. with a bit of guidance, you want to see your low point. over here.
>> right now i’ve got a bunch of stuff in that side of the garage. it’s easier visually if i have the garage visible. versus trying to cover stuff up. i did re position a lot of stuff… so maybe it’s not as bad. a little stuck creatively… i have the strobes on a board… i do have the lights already setup over there. my challenge is parking in the garage… i mean. for the next month until we hit the super deep freeze. and i think if i get lauren a car starter… then we’re probably good. the sqweal is tough tho. if that starts ripping pre heating the car…
i need to clear that other side out anyways, i don’t lovee having the sheet up. i want to use that space. i just so happen to have the golf puzzle right in the middle of it. i think we go with the garage door side as long as we can. and effectively show the clean slate approach.
likely what’s easy is to put the strobe on a tripod maybe. i could get a tree mote thing for it. hah, and then just would need ot hit the main lights on and off. put the remote right at the same spot and you just switch them zip zip. that’s a good one. then i was working on the whiteboard as well. sore from that for sure. could’ve brought this out at the party but meh.
i could in theory do the first session tomorrow, or tonight even really. i do my warmup. then camera rolling for 10 shots. do the explanation, or test run the explanation at least.
i have some footage from the race i can share. i have the blog that i have not written…
i have the habit tracker i’m currently using.
i used the habit tracker to get ready for the 50k grizzly ultra solo…
i used the habit tracker to get better at golf last year…
i’m going to use it again, i’ve never really stopped.. i’m using it to track how many days i practice golf. lowered the barrier to practicing it. setting up in my garage and office. i’m able to get a few reps in pretty well no excuses… i have used the challenge puzzle quite often. but now simplified. and found a super tough target. so now. i do my practice all to improve my club face control, shaft and all that… my lowpoint skill. with the wedge exclusively right now.
learning the nuance of it. so super deeply.
building so much skill and awareness in my hands and body and brain… experience the levels of feel and mastery being focused just working on the wedge… and doing it daily. stringing together the sessions and the days. and using a controlled environment. you show up slightly different each day, the key is to accept the good, the improvements, the growth, prune the old stuff… the challenge is trying to do what you did yesterday and to have it not work. the up levelling is when youre showing up and you’re knowing it. youre not having to think about details, you’re point and shoot. it starts to clump, it starts to become automatic.
that is super satisfying and exciting. to go deep on this one club. you can save a lot of strokes inside 100 yards. you can really start to score. but the fun part that you experience with such a monotonous off season setup… i’m excited for the skill, the feel of knowledge. as your body and mind start to fully accept it and have it clump and consolidate and become effortless. the ups and downs sure, but trajectory wise. keeping at it. there’s so much dept to explore. so we’re looking forward to that. and for sure, i’m super close to having it up and running. we’ll be able to film the first ones, verrrry soon. today, tomorrow, wednesday… we’ll see
