The target is nearly there.

Cut the pipe down to original height. My Make rate is so low. This should help lower required angle. But still super demanding. Would be similar to shooting a free throw and demanding a swish in a smaller hoop. Gives you that jolt of dopamine. And connection with everything required to pull that off.

It’s super intentional. As you work your way towards the perfect strike. And then KABOOM. You make one and it strikes. Or even coming super close. But for sure making. And it’s like. Oh. That’s what it is.

Working to get more perfect strikes of lightning.

Imprint those. Know those.

Stacking strikes of lightning over time. Accumulates that knowledge.

The perfect target. It’s going to do that for me.

I think adding that tier. Catches the misses. Makes a lot of sense. It’s quite easy to collect the balls now. Thinking maybe just add weight so it doesn’t tip with balls to one side.

Or thinking how to just remake the full thing. With wood. But then thinking how to dampen noise and bounce. The box absorbs to an extent. Light. It works well.

I think next step is just to fix up the pipe.

Add a piece of wood down there. I think thenbase can be made with wood.

Chuck weights into it. Figure how to do that. It’s possible I just board the full thing up. Just do that. Then screw on the top.

Measure it all out. Just needs thick enough wood I think. Then should be easy. Connect the pipes up. Will need to add a layer of silicone I think. Hold in place and absorb the shock a bit would be nice. Hopefully it all stays straight. Maybe a second piece of wood slides down to add support. Cross bracing or counter balance or whatever. Double clamp effect. On that upper pipe.

It turns and then out. Obviously have that all tidy and then out the front door. Silicone that as well. Slightly off the ground because of board on bottom. Enough space for a track to return the ball on same line as you hit. KABOOM.

Next steps are pretty straightforward. Having that drill bit. So legit. took too much effort to get the right one tho. lol. I couldn’t find the same pipe at Rona. What the heck. Some black pvc pipe. But it’s thick. Throws me off. Eventually. Look back in chat gpt and find what I’m looking for. I had asked if such and such pipe would fit a golf ball. So then worked with that and yessssss. Makes a nice fit. Not too tight. But legit perfect hole versus the hand cut out stuff Ive been doing. Automating the ability to create a hole is a big unlock. Will be quick and easy to rip this box together. Helps that I figured out pipe configuration I wanted.

This has all been an example of how to improve something. How to iterate.

Can stick together all these videos. And you’ll see the changes over time.

next step is to complete the target. once i have that then i can get those reps in quickly. if the target is there ready to go. doesn’t wobble around.

freedom will present itself. once i start bagging makes in my dojo. i’m learning how the club moves through impact. the goal is to have an innate sense of it. confidence.

with this project. i haven’t shared any of it yet. i have plenty of footage. was thinking maybe an ipad would be handy to help me edit the good stuff… or i make it easier to chop somehow. when i start making them then that’s easy. i just grab the make.

on the path i have this new target with the secondary level. which i just showed was interesting to hit either side of it. gives me great feedback. just how far its going over the top. so that’s all good. and i like how it shoots right back at me. i think the box needs to be big enough to have the pipe come out the front. right now i think it’s the elbow. my guess is we’ll need ot have that go through.

i will need to clean up the garage. i’m so hooked on workin on this golf setup tho. it’s been very low priority in my mind. i also do want to get the rug hooking figured out and built for lauren.
